Fort Caspar's Michelle Bahe created this exciting Images of America history book of your favorite Drum & Bugle Corps in celebration of our 60th competitive year. In this in-depth accounting learn about our 60 years, going all the way back to Jim Jones' teenage years and how the idea for the Troopers was sparked. Witness our climb to National Champions.
The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps was founded in Casper, Wyoming, in November 1957. It was the dream of one man, Jim Jones. He believed that any kid who wanted to march with the Troopers should be afforded the chance. In 10 years, Jones took kids from Casper who had never marched before and turned them into national champions.
Michelle Bahe is the curator of collections at the Fort Caspar Museum. This book is an extension of the museum's 2017 exhibit Troopers: Celebrating 60 Years of the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps. The photographs presented are from the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, Drum Corps World, the Casper College Western History Center, Fort Caspar Museum, and the collections of many members of the Troopers family.
